My Life as a Baseball

My life starts when I'm
Ripped
out of a box or a bag
I'm then handed to the umpire
with about 4 others
We all patiently wait our turn
When the time comes
I'm tossed to the pitcher
The pitcher puts dust on me with his hands
He grips me tightly
Finally, my time has come to
Shine
The pitcher sets
and delivers
I feel the air rush by me
As I head for the plate
The bat swings
SMACK
I sail through the air
over the field and the players
And into a mob of fans
I fall into one lucky fans
hands
I spend the rest of my life
in a case
and on a
shelf
